Gan - Fedu Causeway
This picture shows the concrete piers of the old causeway between Gan and Fedu. These were built during the early part of WW2 to assist in the transportation of armaments and personnel between the islands.  These piers are now buried under the new causeway that has been built between the two islands.  This new causeway is dual carriageway, fully block paved and illuminated at night down its centre, by modern streetlights.  It is also equipped with water pipes under the causeway to allow for the passage of seawater from side to side as the tide changes.
